Former Waterford and Athlone Town goalkeeper Matt Connor signs a new contract with Kerry FC.
Previously in Matthew’s career:
Matthew Connor has played for several League of Ireland clubs, both in the Premier Division and the First Division. He made the most appearances for his boyhood club Waterford, featuring 106 times in total.
Alongside Kerry FC, Waterford, and Athlone Town AFC, Matt has also played for Bray Wanderers (loan), Galway United, Wexford, and Cork City. So far, Matt has made 9 appearances for Kerry FC.
What did Matthew Connor have to say about signing his new contract?:
“Delighted to be signed up for 26. Hopefully, we can bring the momentum built this season into next year and continue to push to get this club to another level. I haven’t enjoyed my football as much in so long, and already can’t wait to get going again. The fans were right behind us, home and away, until the very end last season, and hopefully we can give them another season to remember next year.”
What did Kerry FC Head Coach Colin Healy have to say about signing this signing?:
“I’m delighted to have Matt here again heading into the new season. He’s a top professional both on and off the pitch since landing here last July, and was really impressive in the games we’ve seen him in. Unfortunately, his season was curtailed by injury, but I’ve no doubt he will be fit and ready for the new season and back at his very best, which we saw this year. He has been a great addition to our group, and I’m looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch in 2026.”
