Ireland International Enda Stevens has been training at Roadstone with new League of Ireland champions Shamrock Rovers for the last week with a view of joining The Hoops for the 2026 according to the Irish Independent.
The 35 year old from Dublin is currently a free agent after leaving Stoke City at the end of last season in which he appeared 18 times in the Championship registering 2 assists. Stevens had been linked with a move to Chesterfield during the summer but failed to materialise due to calf problem.
He’s earned 26 senior caps for Ireland with his debut coming in 2018.
His career got up and running in the League of Ireland where he came through at UCD before he spent a couple of years with St Pats and Shamrock Rovers respectively. He then went on to make a very good career for himself in England most notably at Sheffield United.
His potential arrival in Tallaght would likely be a replacement for Josh Honahan who is a man heavily touted elsewhere with Lincoln City reigniting their interest from the summer transfer window. It is also reported by the Irish Independent that Cardiff City are interested in the Honohan who was named in this weeks PFAI Team Of The Year.
Stevens is no stranger to the League Of Ireland having started his LOI journey with UCD before a move to St. Patricks Athletic winning the league title in 2010 and 2011 with Shamrock Rovers under Micheal O Neill.
