FAI Confirm Format for 2026 National League Season

The FAI have today announced the format for the Inaugural 2026 National League Campaign.

The 15 founding clubs will take part in a shortened 2026 National League season, before a fully formatted competition begins in 2027.

This year will see three groups made up of five clubs play against each other on a home and away basis. The three clubs who top their respective groups will advance to the FAI National League Semi-Finals, with the fourth spot reserved for the best-placed group runner-up.

The winners from the Semi-Finals will face off in the FAI National League Final in November, the winner of said Final will be crowned the FAI National League Champions.

The FAI have confirmed which clubs will partake in each group, with fixtures being confirmed at a later date.
