OFF-SEASON INTERVIEWS | Roy Lawlor Interview

Well everyone, I hope you’re all doing great. We’re now just four weeks away from the start of the 2026 League of Ireland season!

Today, I’ll be presenting my interview with Treaty United winger Roy Lawlor. Let’s get started!

Despite playing only 11 games this season for Treaty, what have you learned from those appearances?

Roy Lawlor: Yeah playing 11 times this season has definitely given me a feel for the league and the step up to first team football it’s more intense and physical than academy level so playing those games has help me adjust to it.

Which game was your favourite this season, and why?

Roy Lawlor: Probably the bray game at home getting my first start and winning the game in the markets field in front of the fans who are always great.

Which opponent did you and the team find most difficult to play against this season, and what made them so challenging?

Roy Lawlor: We had tough games against Cobh this year obviously loosing in the last few minutes to them early on in the season was hard to take but beating them in the playoff tie was really good and great experience in the playoffs.

Is there anything from this season you would like to carry forward and develop going into next season?

Roy Lawlor: On a team level I think we can definitely push for promotion as we showed we are capable to this year as we got so close but on a personal level try get into the team more consistently and add goals and assists.

What goals have you set for yourself heading into the upcoming season?

Roy Lawlor: Obviously I want to play more and would like to try get a lot more appearances this year and try push to be in the starting team each week and if I can get in I think the goal would be to add 10g/a this season to help the team.
