The Ringsend Derby takes center stage this week as Shelbourne host Shamrock Rovers in Tolka Park this Friday.
Shelbourne come into the affair on the back of a 1-1 draw down in the RSC in Waterford. A first half scramble led to John Martin opening Shelbourne’s scoring account for the year. Glimpses of attacking flair were shown by the Reds but new signings not exactly gluing together wouldn’t hold back the Blues from getting a goal back, sharing the spoils on the evening. Disappointing all things considered but not a mood dampener ahead of the Derby.
Shamrock Rovers on the other hand missed there first game of the season due to a waterlogged pitch in Tallaght Stadium. They were set to play newly promoted but familiar for Dundalk, but as a result of this being cancelled, Shamrock Rovers first game of the season will be this Friday in the Ringsend Derby.
