Bohemians will aim to end a bad run of form and avoid a major upset when they welcome Cork City to Dalymount Park in the Women’s Premier Division.
Last Time Out
It was heartbreak on penalties last time out for Bohs as they lost the All-Island Cup Final to Wexford at Ferrycarrig Park, in what was their first ever cup final at senior women’s level.
The Rebels ended a run of nine straight defeats with a 1-1 draw at home to DLR Waves at Turners Cross.
Previous Meetings
This will be the second time the sides have met this season, with their previous clash seeing the Gypsies run out 2-0 in the League.
Roisín McGovern and Lisa Murphy were on the score sheet for Bohs that day, both of whom played the full 90 minutes in their cup final defeat on Sunday.
Key Players
Bohemians: Although having not played since scoring away to Waterford in August, Katie McCarn is the top scorer for Bohs by far, with eight goals in 13 league games.
Cork City: Christina Dring is the Rebels’ top scorer this season scoring three goals in 16 games, featuring in whole or in part for all bar one of their league fixtures.
Final Thoughts
The stats don’t lie, neither team is in very good form at the moment. Bohemians have lost the last three games and Cork City haven’t won since April.
City’s positive result last week will give them some hope they can get just their third win of the season however, especially against a side out of form.
However, Bohs will be aiming for all three points to get them back up and running after a difficult spell, and will see this game as a great opportunity to do so.
Prediction: Bohemians 2-0 Cork City
