Following last season’s disappointing 8th place finish, as well as a cup semi-final exit, Bohemians will be looking to make things right next season.
A good place to start would be to clear out the dead wood and bring in new personnel.
The Gypsies have focused very much on bringing in LOI experienced players, doing their business entirely domestically.

INCOMINGS
Let’s start with who the club have welcomed to Dublin 7 for the 2025 season.
COLM WHELAN

It’s safe to say that things are not looking rosy in the Oak Leaf County, as Colm Whelan led the mass exodus of players from Derry City.
The Kilkenny native spent much of last season on the sidelines owing to a knee injury sustained mid way through the 2023 season.
This resulted in the 24-year-old making only 10 appearances last season, scoring his only goal coming in a 2-0 away win to relegate Dundalk in October.
Bohs will be hoping the change from an astro to grass pitch will help Whelan remain injury free, ending a worrying trend for the striker.
JOHN MOUNTNEY

Despite captaining Dundalk to a first relegation in over 20 years last season, John Mountney will still be playing Premier Division football next season.
That’s after Alan Reynolds snapped up the midfielder from the Lilywhites in November on a multi-year deal.
The Gypsies will be hoping that the Mayo man can haunt Shamrock Rovers when they meet in the Aviva, as the 31-year-old did back in May as Dundalk won 1-0.
NIALL MORAHAN

Bohs have certainly not shied away from stacking the midfield with experienced leaders, as they completed the signing of Sligo captain Niall Morahan in November.
The former Bit-O’Red captain signed having spent his whole career up to that point in the Yeats county.
The Leitrim man will be a welcome addition to Dublin 7 next season, as experience is added to the Bohs midfield.
DEPARTURES
There has been a big clear out of last season’s squad, many of whom were regulars in the team last season.
The following players have left the club but haven’t found a new club yet:
James Akintunde, Brian McManus, Filip Piszczek, Paddy Kirk, Chris Lotefa.
Meanwhile Jevon Mills’ loan spell has come to an end, returning to English Chamoionship side Hull City.
DECLAN McDAID

The Scotsman arrived in 2022 following a spell at Dundee FC, and featured regularly in the 2023 season.
However, the winger fell out of favour with Alan Reynolds in 2024, making the vast majority of his appearances off the bench, his only goal being in a 3-1 defeat in Tallaght to Shamrock Rovers in March.
The 29-year-old part-time personal trainer has now signed for First Division Athlone Town. As the saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
MARTIN MILLER

One of three Estonians former manager Declan Devine had brought in last January, Martin Miller started out in midfield before drifting to right back as the season progressed.
The Estonian International was also part of the Estonia team that won the Baltic Cup in Lithuania earlier in the year.
The 27-year-old also popped up with a goal in the quarter final win vs UCD back in September.
Miller has now gone home, signing for Paide Linnameeskond, who finished 3rd in the Meistriliiga last season.
DANNY GRANT

This one f***ing hurt me, and I’m sure it did for many fellow Bohs fans.
Danny Grant had firmly cemented his place as a fan favourite at Dalymount Park last season, becoming a first team regular in his second spell at the club.
However, his departure was announced in a raft of outgoings from the club.
The Lucan man then made the controversial decision to sign for arch rivals Shamrock Rovers.
The 25-year-old follows in the footsteps of the likes of Danny Mandroiu and Liam Burt in going to the 21 time champions.
NICKSON OKOSUN

Having made his debut off the bench in a 3-2 win over Dundalk in July 2023, Nickson Okosun has made five appearances for Bohs in the Premier Division.
The 18-year-old from Swords has been a regular for the club’s underage sides coming through the St. Kevin’s academy from Swords Celtic.
The youngster caught the attention of English Championship side Watford, who signed him to their U-21’s squad in December.
He signs with the Hornets on a five-year contract with the option of a sixth year.
ALEX GREIVE

Alex Greive is one of the raft of signings made by Alan Reynolds in the summer.
The Kiwi joined following a loan spell at Dundee United from St. Mirren, both in Scotland.
However, the New Zealand International failed to hit the ground running at Dalymount Park, scoring just two goals, both of which came in the FAI Cup.
The 25-year-old striker has now signed for San Antonio FC in Texas in the USL Championship.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
With only three signings made all transfer window, it is disappointing to see that positions we need such as full back and striker have not been properly filled. I
If we are to compete for Europe this season, it is vital that we get more bodies through the door, but also that we do so in an effective way and not sign someone just for the sake of signing someone. However, given that the season is just over a month away, management needs to get to work right away.
The fielding of a trialist in a recent friendly vs Waterford does give me optimism that we could be seeing a raft of signings. Time can only tell.
