Four League of Ireland Players Included In Latest Ireland Sqaud

It’s a day to remember for the League of Ireland as Ed McGinty, Conor Brann, Dawson Devoy and Adam Brennan have been named in Heimir Hallgrímsson’s squad for the upcoming fixtures against Qatar and Canada.

The name that has been requested more than any other over the previous months is Dawson Devoy. Since rejoining Bohs from MK Dons, he has become a mainstay in the Bohemians midfield, taking on the armband in the process. He is having a Player of the Year calibre season, and there will be no man happier than Alan Reynolds, who has been crying out for the 24 y/o to have a chance to represent his nation.

The other outfielder to join Dawson in the squad is teenage sensation Adam Brennan from arch-rivals Shamrock Rovers. The 18 y/o winger is currently having a breakout season in 2026 under Stephen Bradley, operating as a Left-sided Wing-Back. However, in the squad named, he has been included as a winger.

Hallgrímsson named four goalkeepers in his squad, Brennan’s teammate Ed McGinty is 1 of the 2 GKs named. McGinty’s time at Shamrock Rovers was rocky at the start, after joining from Sligo Rovers in early 2025. However, his athleticism and sharp reflexes has made him viewed as the best goalkeeper in the league by many people.

The other goalkeeper named was Cork City’s Conor Brann. Brann joined the club for the 2025 campaign, after a long trial period as he was signed on a permanent.

Mason Melia, Jaden Umeh and Alex Murphy are other first time inclusions, all having played in the League of Ireland for St Patricks Athletic, Cork City and Galway United respectively.
