Cork City 1-0 UCD AFC

There was high expectations for City going into the game after the impressive performance vs a young kerry side and a disappointing draw vs Harps in Ballybofey

UCD were hoping to get a result after last weeks disappointing loss in Belfield were Enda Curran opened his season tally for Treaty United

Cork City lined up in a 4-2-3-1

UCD were without Ronan Finn as he did not travel with the squad to Turners Cross.

It was a rather disappointing First Half from City as they had most of the ball but struggled to make much chances as UCD sat deep and played rather well when they had the ball out their feet attacking quick and trying to get shots off or cross it into dangerous areas with low crosses.

Fortunately City were rescued from their lackluster First Half by a corner whipped in by Jack Doherty where Cian Coleman towered over his marker at the back post to put City 1-0 up

Both sides waited until about 70 mins in to make their changes were Greg Bolger was reintroduced to Turners Cross in the Green and White.

Again the same story as the same half with UCD making good chances and sitting deep and City struggling to create chances.

Before the Full time whistle was blown Barry Coffey saw red for a stamp on the Achilles of UCD’s Ciaran Behan.

A poor game for Cork City and many positives to take for UCD.
