Malik Dijksteel is set to miss Cork City’s season opener against Galway United, Tim Clancy has confirmed.
The former Feyenoord academy player has had a successful preseason on Leeside, scoring 3 goals. But the Dutch winger picked up an injury in the Munster Senior Cup quarter final last Friday night in a 2-1 loss to Cobh Ramblers
Dijksteel’s injury isn’t as severe as Harry Nevin and Evan McLaughlin’s injury, however. Evan McLaughlin will definitely be missing the next 6 weeks for City, while Nevin’s period on the sidelines hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Nonetheless, a loss for City. Do you think the Rebel Army will cope without the tricky winger?
