Pats are in league action on Friday against European spot competitors Derry City in the Brandywell. Only 4 points separate 3rd place Derry and 5th place Pats. With Kennys men catching fire and Derry on rocky form, this will be a tasty affair for the last European spot….
Previous Games:
Derry come off the back off a very late Adam O’Reilly winner to see of Galway United in a 2-1 win. That was Derrys first since the 18th of July, 4 games ago. They were also recently knocked out of the FAI cup on penalties against holders Drogheda United.
While Pats on the other hand come into the game on great form after their recent European exit to Besiktas. Pats haven’t lost a non European game since the last meeting with Derry with a disappointing 1-0 loss on June 23rd. Pats come off a last minute winner also with a last minute Luke Turner winner to give Pats a 1-0 win in Sullivan and Lambe Park against Drogheda.
Previous Meeting:
23/06/2025: Pats 0-1 Derry
05/05/2025: Derry 1-0 Pats
03/03/2025: Pats 2-0 Derry
Key Players:
Derry City: One player I would look out for would be the forever consistent Micheal Duffy. The winger has been one of the best players in the league yet again, with 15 goal contributions in 28 games, Duffy will always be a constant threat off the wing for Tiernan Lynch. Would also like to point out midfielder Adam O’Reilly (pictured above) is constantly working hard, he sets to play his former club Pats, where he thrived under Tim Clancy in 2022.
St Pats: Someone who has recently came into form would be Simon Power, consistently being on the aggressive side for Pats bursting into the box trying to make things happen. He really is a positive out on the right wing for the Saints. While only having 2 goal contributions in 20 appearances, he will always be a threat down the wing.
