Bohemians have signed left-back Kian Best on loan from Preston North End, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old was named PNE’s Young Player of the Season for 2023/2024 and has also been capped at U19 level for England.
The left-back position was a position of serious concern for Alan Reynolds, who has come under criticism for his lack of action in the transfer market.
However, the club has “taken our time to find the right fit”, adding that they “want to get the right players for the right positions”.
Best is “exactly the kind of quality that will strengthen [Bohemians’] squad” according to Reynolds in a club statement.
The Preston academy graduate has played 13 senior games for the West Lancashire club, which “will really stand to [him]”, Best said to club media.
In addition, at the start of the EFL Championship season, Preston and Best rejected a deal from a Saudi Pro League club to bring him to the Middle East.
He is under contract at Deepdale until June of this year, which is when his loan spell at Dalymount Park comes to an end.
