Match Report: Dyer’s Daggers Slice Through Bohemians

Moses Dyer was at the double for Galway United, being influential in his sides 2-0 win over Alan Reynolds Bohemians.

Following last nights result Galway move up to 2nd in the league table and remain the only unbeaten team in the 2025 Premier Division season.

The first chance of the match fell to Ross Tierney who had received the ball in the centre of the box from a Dawson Devoy corner, but his attempt on goal was high and wide and didn’t cause Evan Watts any trouble.

Galway had their first attempt on goal of the game after 17 minutes and they certainly didn’t waste it, a long ball was flicked on by Patrick Hickey and fell to the feet of Bobby Burns who delivered a beautiful cross that was headed into the bottom left corner by Moses Dyer.

Dyer had another headed opportunity a couple of minutes later but his attempt was too high.

Bohs did have one last chance before the break, Dayle Rooney slipped in Liam Smith but his effort was palmed out for a corner by Watts.

Alan Reynolds men came out firing in the second half putting pressure on Galway United’s lead, Colm Whelan’s close range effort was narrowly wide.

Galway soon woke up and created a chance of their own, a beautiful ball into the box was met by Patrick Hickey but his attempt resulted in a comfortable save for James Talbot.

A cleverly worked Bohemians corner allowed Jordan Flores to get a shot off and it was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Watts.

Despite Bohs having the better chances in the second half, Galway created a goal out of nothing. The Bohemians defenders were unable to deal with a long ball, Moses Dyer was able to get onto it first and from a near impossible angle, on the volley, Dyer strikes it from the right corner of the box and buries it into the top left corner.

Bohemians failed to create anything of substance in the remaining minutes of the match and so Galway picked up another victory in their impressive start to the season. Things are looking worrying for Bohemians and the shouts for Alan Reynolds head are only getting louder.

LOITALK MOTM: Moses Dyer

Who else? He could’ve been sent off and scored an own goal and I’d still be giving him the MOTM after that outrageous goal that is certain to be in goal of the season contention.
