When first announced the game was deemed null and void resulting in Kerry FC being deducted 3 points and fined €1,0000 and Finn Harps being fined €1.

Wexford had also been deducted 3 points on the opening night of the season for fielding an ineligible player against UCD and were also fined. Wexford FC had intended to appeal but there has been no update to their situation since.
