Daniel Okwute Interview:

Hi everyone, Michał here! This week, I had the privilege of interviewing one of Kerry FC’s standout players, Daniel Okwute. We spoke about his journey with the club so far and looked ahead to Kerry FC’s massive upcoming clash against Shamrock Rovers in the Sports Direct FAI Cup Semi-Finals.

Last time out in the FAI Cup, Daniel scored a dramatic goal in the 118th minute to seal a 4-3 win over Sligo Rovers, a moment that will live long in the memory of Kerry fans. But enough from me — Let’s Get Started!

Michał: What’s your feeling ahead of the game against Shamrock Rovers this week? Are you and the team setting high standards going into the match?

Daniel Okwute: Everyone in training is feeling really good training been really good overall the boys are ready and roaring to go against rovers we set high standards for every opposition we play not just rovers so should be a good match against them.

Michał: Looking back over the season so far, is there a particular game or moment that stands out as a turning point for you, either personally or for the team? I’d imagine it might be the FAI Cup game against Sligo Rovers, where you scored to make it 4-3, unless I’m wrong?

Daniel Okwute: No not really to be honest I think we’ve been good but obviously a few results haven’t went our way that we’d like it to but it didn’t really dent us as a team we knew what we was capable of and I think it shows that where here now and we want to push to get to the final.

Michał: You’ve now played under three different managers at Kerry FC: Billy Dennehy, Conor McCarthy, and Colin Healy. What would you say are the biggest differences in their coaching styles or tactical approaches?

Daniel Okwute: There’s nothing between them they all want to win Colin coming in was massive not just for me but for everyone involved with the club a high profile manager so your bound to get better.

Michał: Having previously played with Stockport and Finn Harps before joining Kerry, have you noticed any major differences between those clubs? Are there any similarities or standout contrasts?

Daniel Okwute: Ya it’s a massive difference in England the quality the facilities and many more with the two Irish clubs they both have ambitions to clime up and play at the highest level in the country.

Michał: Finally, do you have a message for the Kerry fans who are making the trip to support the team in Sunday’s FAI Cup clash with Shamrock Rovers?

Daniel Okwute: See you on Sunday!

I would like to sincerely thank Dan for taking the time to answer my questions and take part in this interview. I wish him all the very best during his time with Kerry FC and throughout the rest of his career.

To all the Kerry fans reading this — I hope to see you at the game! It’s definitely going to be a huge match, with over 1,000 of us heading to support the team.

And as always, thanks to everyone for taking the time to read this article!
