Galway United return to Eamonn Deacy Park after their Easter Monday trip to the capital, having picked up a point against champions Shelbourne thanks to a Moses Dyer brace.
Meanwhile, Drogheda are also coming off a draw — a resilient defensive performance saw them keep St Patrick’s Athletic scoreless for the second time this season.

Team News
Colm Horgan returned to the Galway United squad against Shelbourne as an unused substitute. Horgan was the last player on John Caulfield’s injury list, and with no suspensions, he now has a full squad available for selection.
Douglas James-Taylor remains sidelined with injury, and it is unclear when the Englishman will return to full fitness.

Key Stats
Galway and Drogheda clash stylistically in the sense that neither side likes to dominate possession. Galway United have averaged 39.8% possession this season, while Drogheda United have averaged just 32.2%. Galway have only had the larger share of possession on two occasions this season — against Waterford and in their February meeting with Drogheda — where Galway held 54% of the ball to Drogheda’s 46%.
Interestingly, Galway have picked up more points on the road this season. Drogheda also boast impressive away form, having won 60% of their away matches and remaining unbeaten outside the confines of Sullivan and Lambe Park in 2025.
Key Players
Despite only joining the league this year, Moses Dyer has quickly established himself as one of the best strikers in the division. Two goals against Shelbourne brought him up to five for the season, making him the league’s joint top scorer. The Kiwi has registered just thirteen shots in the league, giving him a remarkable shot conversion rate of 38.5%. He’s also created 10 chances for his teammates. Given how little possession Galway tend to have, when they do get the ball to Dyer, he usually makes it count.
Warren Davis has been one of the standout young players in the Premier Division this season. Despite being only 20 years old, he has stepped up in the absence of Douglas James-Taylor — scoring five goals, providing one assist, and creating seven chances for his teammates. Much like Moses Dyer, no one tipped him to be among the league’s top attacking threats, but both have proven just that. With the way Davis is playing, he’s more than deserving of an Ireland U21 call-up in June.

Betting Odds
The bookies have yet to acknowledge the fact that Drogheda are top of the league, as they once again go into a match as betting underdogs — priced at 13/5 — with Galway United at even money and a draw at 21/10.
