Arsenal are reportedly the favourites to sign 16 year old Shamrcok Rovers midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna on a pre-contract.
Ozhianvuna made his debut for the Hoops earlier this year coming on as a substitute in the opening game of the season against Bohemians at the Aviva Stadium, where he was one of Stephen Bradley’s most impressive players on the day.
He has featured a total of 7 times for Rovers this season, primarily as a wingback but is believed to have a future in Midfield.

Irish footballers are unable to move to England until they turn 18 as a result of Brexit. This not only means that Shamrock Rovers could have a very talented player at their disposal until at least January 2027, but it also suggests they’re likely to receive a much higher fee— with the club reportedly hoping to secure a sum similar to what St Patrick’s Athletic received for Mason Melia, according to Daniel McDonnell.
The report also states that there are clubs outside of Britain interested in Ozhianvuna, where he would be eligible to join as early as the summer transfer window; however, the player prefers a move to England.
It is believed that the many clubs interested in Ozhianvuna would be willing to agree a deal this summer, despite having to wait 18 months before the player could actually join. As things currently stand, Champions League semifinalists Arsenal are making the strongest advances for the Irish U17 international’s services.
