The League Of Ireland have just released a statement in the past few minutes with regards the League Of Ireland First Division.
That statement starts
“Following the conclusion of a disciplinary process regarding player eligibility in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division, an Independent Disciplinary Committee has reached the following decisions:”
“- Wexford FC fielded an ineligible player, Darragh Dunne, in their fixture against UCD AFC on 14 February 2025. In accordance with FAI Disciplinary Regulations, Wexford FC have forfeited this fixture by a scoreline of 3-0.
– Kerry FC fielded an ineligible player, Stevan Stanic-Floody, and Finn Harps FC fielded an ineligible player, Gavin Hodgins, in their fixture versus each other on 14 February 2025. In accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations, the result of this fixture is annulled, meaning that the result is void and neither team will receive any points.”
All 3 offences happened on gameweek one of the First Division when Wexford FC had defeated the Students 3-0 and Kerry FC had defeated Finn Harps 2-0 at Mounthawk Park.
This now leaves Wexford FC with 6 points, UCD jump up to 4th with 9 points. Kerry FC sit bottom of the League with 4 points and Finn Harps remain on 7 points.
Stevan Stanic-Floody came on in the 88th minute in the clash against Finn Harps while Gavin Hodgins came on at halftime in the game at Mounthawk Park
