Match Preview: Bohemians V Derry City

Another big one awaits in D7 as the Bohs take on the on form Candystripes! Pat Fenlon will be looking to get the spark back at Dalymount and give the fans something to cheer about but it’ll be a hard task as always.

Coming into this game Ruaidhri Higgins side are the team on form sitting in 2nd place in the league and have not lost a game so far Beating Jon Daly’s men and Drawing with Stephen Bradley’s Shamrock Rovers, I expect a good high intensity performance from them on Friday with Bagsman Patrick Hoban looking to add to his tally the Loughrea native already has 6 goals this season for the Candystripes. 3 of them coming last week Aganist Keith Long’s newly promoted Waterford.

Now let’s talk bohs, There has been a lot of noise coming out of Dalymount park in the recent few days with a lot of questions being asked of the board! Recruitment hasn’t been good enough in this pre season which is showing in these recent games a lack of team chemistry and it’s clear to see some of the players just aren’t good enough! It was an awful performance Aganist Shelbourne and not one of them looked like they were going to score or even attempt to!

For key players im going with an obvious Patrick Hoban Stats speaks for itself. Proven and experienced League of Ireland Striker which will be too much for the inexperienced Bohs Defence, Another Key one for the Candystripes is Right back Ronan Boyce the Derry man has had a great start to the season with a goal on the opening day against Drogheda and has put in 4 solid performances after!

For Bohs there’s not many too pick from I don’t think any Bohs fan can tell me anyone was half decent on Friday Bar maybe James Clarke getting himself around a bit a few tackles here and there but didn’t create much, But all can change on Friday Maybe Devine was the problem we will soon find out how these players will react with a new change in system!

My prediction for this fixture is a tricky one obviously Derry on great form but can Fenlon get some sort of performance and a reaction out of this players? I really hope he can, either way im going with A 3-0 win for Derry, kills me to say it just can’t see Bohs beating an on form Derry side and a flying Patrick Hoban who I will think will run riot Aganist this Bohs Defence

Dalymount needs to be full to back the Fenlon in his first interim game in charge!!
