Match report by Luke O’Mahony
Kerry F.C v Wexford F.C. a matchup the league hasn’t seen since October of last year.
With confidence in the ability of the Wexford team growing, any away fans on the North Terrace of Mounthawk Park will be optimistic going into the club’s 3rd League of Ireland match in Kerry. Three times Kerry have lost to Wexford by just a goal, first on March 17th of 2023 where an 88th minute goal from Leo Gaxha would prove not enough to bring his side back into the match.
On the 26th of May Kerry welcomed Wexford to Mounthawk Park for the first time, Wexford won 6-0 with Kerry not producing many chances to hit back at their opponents. August 11th 2023: Wexford 3-2 Kerry. Kerry went ahead twice with both goals coming from Kennedy Amechi. In the 79th minute Wexford equalised to make it 2-2 and a minute later they scored the winner. Kerry lost 2-1 at home when they faced Wexford in the first week of October. Kerry v Wexford a year on from Kerry’s first season and maybe Kerry might achieve their first home win when they welcome the yellow bellies to Mounthawk Park.
