Team News

St Pats will be without Sean Hoare, Kian Leavy, Ryan McLaughlin and Romal Palmer through injury. Barry Baggley was sent off against Sligo Rovers and will be suspended for this match.

Cameron Dunnigham is still at least a month away from returning to the Derry City squad after a hamstring injury picked up during preseason.

Key Stats

These sides met five times in 2024, Derry City winning four including a 3-0 victory in the FAI Cup. However the most recent meeting saw Stephen Kenny’s side win 1-0 and put an end to Derry’s title hopes.

St Pats home record at Richmond Park last season was very respectable, winning the majority of their home games (61% wins, 11% draws, 28% losses). Away from home last season Derry City won just 28% of the time (28% wins, 39% draws, 33% losses).

Key Players

Every week I highlight Aidan Keena and I’m going to continue to do that. Currently the joint top scorer in the league and all three goals have been absolutely beautiful. Not only did he score two goals on Friday night against the Bit O’Red but also had an 80% pass completion rate and completed all of his dribbles.

Kevin Holt’s move to Derry City from Dundee United caught a lot of people’s eyes and he didn’t disappoint on his debut against Waterford despite the loss. Holt completed 86% of his passes including 11 successful long balls, he won 4 of his 6 duels and also had a goal line clearance. Keena vs Holt will be a key battle in determining who comes out victorious in this match.
