Match Review: Kerry FC 0-1 Treaty United

It was late late drama in Mounthawk Park tonight as Kerry FC missed a last minute penalty to register their first point of the season. Victory for Treaty United means they remain top of the table for a second week and remain the only club with a 100% record so far this season.

In an action packed first half where if someone told you it was 0-0 at the break you would double check to make sure. This could have easily been 2-2/3-3 at half time except for good saves from both keepers and poor shots from both sides.

Treaty United brought excellent away support for the trip to Tralee and never stopped singing all night. It led to a brilliant atmosphere at Mounthawk Park.

In a high paced first ten minute period Treaty could have taken the lead in the first 15 seconds with a excellent chance but failed to take it.

Just before the 20th minute mark Treaty thought they were infront. A fantastic shot from Enda Curran looked destined for the net only for a unbelievable save from the Kerry shot stopper Tuta.

It was in the second half Treaty United got their lead. Yoyo Mahdy getting his far goal for Treaty United after brilliant work down the wing from Thomas Considine.

Then came the drama in the final few minutes. Treaty goalkeeper Corey Chambers was forced off due to injury and up stepped 17 year old Michael Dike for his senior debut. It nearly went wrong for the debutant as with the final play of the game he gave a penalty for what looked like to be a soft decision based on replays.

Up stepped Ryan Kelliher to take the penalty. Kelliher was waiting for Dike to dive but never did so which resulted in the ball blazing over the bar and Treaty United coming out on top.

Full Time score Kerry FC 0-1 Treaty United.
