Cobh Ramblers winger Dylan McGlade says the squad are fully focused heading into Friday night’s First Division Playoff Semi-Final first leg against Treaty United at the Markets Field.
McGlade, who has played a massive role in Cobh’s strong campaign this season since his arrival in the summer transfer window, says the players are relishing the challenge and proud of how far the team has come in just a year.
Since his arrival in July McGlade has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season scoring 3 goals and 2 assists along the way to Cobh Ramblers highest finish since the 2017 season when they also finished in second place.
Speaking ahead of Friday night’s game to LOI Talk, McGlade said he’s “really looking forward to the game on Friday” and described it as “a massive week for the club.” Reflecting on their progress, he added that “to be in this position finishing 2nd this year after finishing 8th last year is testament to the players and staff that have put in the hard yards this season.”
When asked about Friday nights opposition, McGlade added they “know Treaty is a tough place to go and they are a tough team to play against,” but insists the squad are “going into the game confident and ready for the battle.”
McGlade also urged the Ramblers supporters to make the trip to Limerick, saying, “we’re hoping the fans get behind us and travel in numbers to support us as we’ve no doubt Treaty will have a big home crowd cheering them on.”
All eyes will be on the Markets Field on Friday where Richie Holland’s side will be looking to bring a positive result back to St.Colmans Park ahead of the return leg on Tuesday night.
